Pablo Zabaleta hands advice to wantaway West Ham star Sakho

West Ham defender Pablo Zabaleta has urged team-mate Diafra Sakho to forget about transfer talk surrounding his future and focus on scoring more goals.

Sakho reportedly wanted to move away from the club during the summer transfer window and had he got his way, he would have moved to French club Rennes. However West Ham did not allow the move to take place.

Despite the Hammers being below par in terms of their form during the early parts of this season, Sakho has been one of the players who has impressed as he has so far scored three goals from eight games in all competitions mainly coming off the bench.

Zabaleta has been impressed by the attitude shown by the Senegal international and said, “Diafra can have a big impact for us because he’s a great player, but it is all about confidence.

“He’s not been playing much in the Premier League aside from coming on for a few minutes, and his only starts have been in the Carabao Cup.

“This is what you expect from players like this who, even if they are not starting the games, they come on and give 100 per cent, even if it is only for ten minutes. He did that against Swansea, so I’m very pleased for him.”
