According to ESPN, Everton are considering an approach for Dutch striker Bas Dost.
The Toffees failed to secure a seasoned striker following the departure of Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United during the summer transfer window.
They may have useful options such as Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is a promising youngster, and Oumar Niasse, who has exceeded expectations so far this season, however the duo are not ideal long-term solutions.
Dost could be a good signing for the Toffees. At 28 years of age, he is arguably at the peak of his career and scored 36 times from 41 appearances last season for Sporting Lisbon as well as 48 goals from 117 appearances for Wolfsburg during the 2015-16 season.
The physically big Dost could also be a good signing for Everton in that he could just help the club to get the best out of Gylfi Sigurdsson. Dost may not be a flashy player but he could be a good option for Koeman’s struggling side.
