BBC pundit Steve Thompson has criticized Celtic star Kieran Tierney after his disappointing performance for the Scotland national team during their 2-2 draw with Slovenia during the weekend.
The draw away from home caused heartbreak for Scotland as it meant that they have failed to qualify for the World Cup yet again.
They have finished Group F in third place behind Slovakia, who had a better goal difference. Though Celtic have been stellar domestically, Tierney was unable to emulate his heroics for the Bhoys while on international duty.
Thompson issued a scathing review of Tierney’s performances during Scotland’s recent games and writing on the BBC Sports website, he stated, “The Celtic defender hasn’t looked as comfortable at right-back in these last two games.
“Booked early on for a poor challenge and didn’t offer a threat going forward likes he does for his club.”
Tierney will look to put the frustration behind him when he plays for Celtic against Dundee United this weekend.
