According to reports, Everton and Arsenal could be set to do a swap deal during the January transfer window.
The Gunners are said to be interested in young striker Ademola Lookman. Everton meanwhile failed to secure a seasoned striker during the summer following Romelu Lukaku’s transfer to Manchester United and are said to be interested in Olivier Giroud.
The 19 year old Lookman moved to Goodison Park in January as a highly rated youngster from Charlton Athletic. He has struggled for game time so far this season with manager Ronald Koeman preferring more experienced players.
Lookman did famously find the net during Everton’s 4-0 win over Manchester City earlier in the year, though he has been mainly an unused substitute this season.
Therefore, a swap deal could be on the cards in January. Everton attempted to sign Giroud this summer but the Frenchman opted to remain with the Gunners.
He may be more open to a move in January if he does not receive regular game time under Arsene Wenger as he will need to play as much as possible ahead of the 2018 World Cup.
