Divock Origi has admitted that his move to German club Wolfsburg was three years in the making. After falling down the pecking order at Liverpool, the Belgian international joined the German outfit on loan this summer.
He joined the Bundesliga club in order to get more playing time with a view to making the Belgium squad for the 2018 World Cup.
He is also hoping to regain confidence in his ability and start living up to the potential that made Liverpool purchase him following his impressive showing for Belgium during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Origi has now revealed that Wolfsburg had been looking to sign him for the past three years, he said, “There was interest from all over Europe and especially from England. But three years ago Wolfsburg made me an offer.
“Wolfsburg was determined and that made it easier for me.”I want to grow here as a player in a club that believes in me.”
