Former Scotland national team footballer Steve Nicol has stated that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will not be sacked if the Reds fail to qualify for the Champions League during the 2018/19 season.
The Reds are currently not playing like a team that could challenge for a top four finish and after several games, they are already several points behind the Manchester clubs at the top of the standings.
Nonetheless, Nicol does not think that the German will be sacked if the club fail to qualify for next season’s edition of the Champions League.
He said, “No (he shouldn’t get sacked at the end of the season). But I would suggest that the following season, if it’s the same thing, then yes (he should get sacked). Yes (I’d give him 18 months).”
Both Klopp and the Reds first team, notably the defence has come under intense criticism this season.
