Tottenham star Sissoko happy with Newcastle United start

Tottenham Hotspur star Moussa Sissoko has revealed that he is very happy with the start that his former club Newcastle United have made to the Premier League season.

The Magpies currently lie in 9th position on the standings with ten points from several games following their creditable draw against Liverpool during the weekend.

Many questioned whether Rafa Benitez’s team would manage to survive this season as they failed to secure many of their summer transfer targets.  Matters were also made worse after they lost their opening two Premier League games of the season against Tottenham and Huddersfield.

However the team have shown improvement to get to where they are and captain Jamaal Lascelles in particular, has led from the front.

Sissoko has now revealed that he is happy with the progress made by his former club, saying, “I’m very happy for them because Newcastle is a club that deserves to be where it is currently. They are making a good start to the season, although the first two games were complicated. But they got better.

“They made 1-1 against Liverpool. I wish them good luck. They earn points. They are well ranked. I hope that they will have a good season.”
