According to reports, West Ham boss Slaven Bilic has been backed by the clubs board to keep his job at least until the end of the season. Bilic was largely criticized last season as the Hammers ended up finishing the Premier League in a disappointing 11th position.
He continued to be criticized this season as the club had lost four out of their several games prior to their win against Swansea this weekend. The East London clubs 1-0 win over the Swans would have no doubt give the players a much needed confidence boost and also eased the pressure on Bilic.
Though the Hammers are currently in 15th place on the League standings, Bilic is confident that the players will work hard to help the club move up in the standings.
Following his team’s win this weekend, he said, “I don’t see a lack of effort. I see they want to do it, not just now but after the first three games when we had zero points, I didn’t see a lack of discipline in the camp. On the contrary, I saw that we want to do it all together.
“Are they doing it for the manager or themselves? At the end of the day that is not important but they did it. You can talk about the quality of our performance against Swansea but we won the game because we didn’t give up.”
