Gerrard wishes this Tottenham player was playing for Liverpool

Steven Gerrard has admitted that he wishes that Tottenham star Harry Kane was a Liverpool legend.

Harry Kane has now firmly established himself as one of the World’s best strikers after finishing as the top goal scorer in the Premier League during the past two consecutive seasons.

His form has led to Spurs narrowly missing out on Premiership glory during the past two seasons.  The 24 year old Kane is also once again on a run of sublime form after netting 13 goals for club and country during the month of August and it will not be surprising if he were to once again win the Premier League golden boot award this month.

Gerrard hailed the striker and added that he wished that he were a Red. He said, “He is the in-form player in world football, in terms of goals scored and how he is playing.

“I love the player and I love the character. I watch his interviews a lot and I have also met him on a couple of occasions. I think he is a perfect role model and an ambassador for the game. I love the way he goes about his work.

“I’ve also spoken to people who know him better than myself and I’ve heard he is obsessed and relentless on the training ground. I am sure he is getting the rewards now for all that hard work. I am glad he is English, I wish he was a Red!”
