Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has claimed that the Citizens are a more technical club than his former team Tottenham. Walker joined the Citizens this summer for a fee of £50 million after reportedly falling out with manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Another big reason as to why Walker may have been tempted to move was because City offered him bigger wages as well as a strong chance of winning major silverware.
The 27-year-old Walker has settled into life quickly at City and the club are in top form after having won six out of their several Premier League games thus far.
Walker confirmed that life at City is very different to how it was with Spurs, saying, “Here a lot of the work is technical. If you had asked me this at Tottenham, there was a lot of gym, running — a lot of volume work, as they call it there.
“You lose the ball in training here and you’re not seeing it for five minutes. It’s frustrating. I’m losing my head, hunting the ball down, trying to rattle people, but [Pep Guardiola] teaches you just to look after the ball. It must be horrible to play against this team. It’s a joy to be part of it.”
