Despite his team not being on the best of form, Everton manager Ronald Koeman has stated that fans of the club cannot complain about the player’s attitude.
The pressure on Koeman grew this weekend as the Merseyside club were consigned to their fourth defeat of the season from several games as they lost 1-0 to Burnley.
There were heavy expectations on the Toffees at the start of the season with some tipping them to challenge for a top four finish, however they currently occupy 16th position on the standings.
Despite the club not getting ideal results, Koeman believes that it would be unfair to criticize the efforts of his players. He said, “At the moment, it is totally different than it was last season.
“That’s football – it’s difficult to take for the players because they gave everything and it’s difficult to take for the fans.
“I understand whistles by half-time, I understand everybody being really disappointed about the final result, but they can’t complain about the attitude of the players.”
