Frustrated Swansea boss Paul Clement has said that his team deserved points from their game against West Ham on Saturday. Both teams entered the game on the back of poor form and were looking to gain confidence.
Though the game turned out to be less than impressive, it was the Hammers who sealed victory through a late strike from Diafra Sakho. The loss leaves the Swans in the bottom three with only three goals and five points from several Premier League games so far.
Following the game, Clement feels that his side could have got something out of the game against the Hammers and said, “I think over the course of the game we were very much in it and arguably the better side.
“Particularly in the first half when we had good control of the game and were getting the ball forward into the attacking third.
“What was missing for us in the first and second half was that little bit of quality to create good opportunities.
“I was much more pleased with the way we played football today, but clearly disappointed to have at least not come away with a draw.”
There will be heavy pressure on Clement over the international break and he will need to try and rectify the situation quickly or the club will once again need to fight off relegation as they did last season.
