West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has admitted that his team deserved to be booed during their 1-0 win against Swansea on Saturday.
The Hammers entered the game having lost four out of their six games in the Premier League and desperately needed a win.
There was also pressure mounting on Bilic following the team’s poor run of form and they did manage to clinch three points through a goal from Diafra Sakho towards the end of the match.
After a less than impressive first half, the East London club were jeered by fans as they headed towards the dressing room. Bilic’s decision to substitute Javier Hernandez was also not met well, as was the announcement that Andy Carroll was man of the match.
In his post-match interview, Bilic said, “It’s a great three points, a clean sheet and nobody can say that we didn’t deserve it as the game went on.
“You could feel the pressure was on the players. It wasn’t good. We deserved to be booed at half-time. The fans are demanding, they want the best for the club and we were poor. So we deserved to be booed, definitely.”
The win could ease the pressure on Bilic and takes the Hammers out of the bottom three.
