West Ham goalkeeper Joe Hart has admitted that fans of the club had a right to criticize them during their 1-0 victory against Swansea on Saturday.
The Hammers entered the game in poor form after losing four out of their six Premier League games and with manager Slaven Bilic under pressure.
Though they did manage to seal a victory through a late strike from Diafra Sakho, it was not a pleasant performance. Fans of the club jeered during half time as well as when Javier Hernandez was substituted.
Hart said after the game, “We are relieved of course. It was a strange game that understandably won’t get much airplay.
“It was a difficult atmosphere in some ways. I’m never going to criticise the fans, they come here and pay their money and have a right to their opinion. It was not a high-quality performance. I was not high quality today.”
The victory however is a much needed three points for the Hammers and takes them out of the bottom three. The pressure is however still on Bilic and plenty of hard work still needs to be done if the club wishes to have a good season.
