Everton manager Ronald Koeman admits he is running out of excuses

Everton manager Ronald Koeman has admitted that his side have no more excuses as must start performing as they prepare to take on Burnley on Sunday afternoon.

Despite having spent heavily on bolstering their side during the summer, the form of the Merseyside club has been underwhelming so far this season as they have taken just seven points from their opening six fixtures this season.

They enjoyed resurgence last week as they recorded back to back victories in the Carabao Cup against Sunderland and in the League against Bournemouth.

However the Toffees played out to a disappointing 2-2 draw this week in the Europa League against Cypriot side Apollon Limassol.

Koeman has now admitted that his side have no more excuses and said, “It’s not time to find any more excuses.

“The next game is on Sunday. With a win, everyone will be happy and maybe ‘Everton are back’, that will be the newspaper on Monday.

“If we don’t win, the newspaper will be totally different. But that’s football and I accept that way of thinking.”
