Liverpool boss not worried by his attack

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed that he is unconcerned by his team’s lack of goals.

While the Reds defense has so far proven to be sloppy, their attack has also been below par and wasted a flurry of opportunities as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Spartak Moscow in the Champions League this week.

The Merseyside club have scored just six goals in six games since the international break.  This will clearly need to improve if they wish to have a good season.

The game against Spartak was the first time that Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane started together and the Reds will be hoping that the quartet can do damage to other sides as they play together more regularly.

Speaking ahead of his team’s match against Newcastle on Sunday, Klopp said, “Like it is in life and in football, you have to keep on going.

“We speak about the things we have influence on. But do you think I should speak about the two headers, the one Roberto [Firmino] had and the one Mo Salah had, during the game against Moscow? Tell them ‘look, if you hit it a little bit more’, or whatever. That’s not how it works.

“We all know these boys will score. The difficult thing in a situation like this is to stay confident.”
