Everton manager Ronald Koeman has insisted that his club must sign a target man in January.
The Toffees are currently low on confidence after having taken just several points from their opening six Premier League games. They also played out to a disappointing 2-2 draw with Apollon Limassol this week.
One of the areas in which the Merseyside club are struggling is in terms of attack. The goals have dried up since they lost Romelu Lukaku this summer to Manchester United and to make matters worse, they failed to recruit a new striker to replace the Belgian.
When asked about his clubs desire to sign a new forward this summer, Koeman replied saying, “We were unlucky in that. And you need to believe that you don’t get everyone as a striker in.”
Koeman was reportedly chasing Arsenal star Olivier Giroud during the summer, though the Frenchman eventually opted to stay put at the Gunners.
When asked if his club will need to sign a new striker in January, Koeman replied saying, “For me, yes.”
