The Scotland national team has received a huge blow after it has been confirmed that Scott Brown and Stuart Armstrong will not be available for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers through injury.
Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that this is due to a hamstring and calf injury respectively.
Gordon Strachan’s Scotland side currently occupy fourth position in Group F and are six points behind the group leaders England.
Rodgers confirmed that both players are injured, saying, “It’s unfortunate for both players, unfortunate for us, and obviously for Scotland.
“We don’t think it’s overly-serious. It’s something that’s probably a few weeks. It puts them out of the game tomorrow and the international games.”
The Scots set to face off against Slovakia and Slovenia next Thursday and Sunday. It will be vital that they win these games in order to keep alive their chances of a place in the World Cup next year.
