Everton midfielder Davy Klaassen has admitted that he is finding it tough to adapt to the Premier League. Klaassen arrived at the Toffees during the summer for £24 million from Ajax and many would have expected him to be an instant hit at the club.
He was very impressive last season for the Dutch giants and played a big role in guiding them to the final of the Europa League where they lost to Manchester United.
The 24-year-old has however so far been less than convincing during his first few games for he Toffees. He will be hoping to start churning out some impressive performances soon.
He said, “It has not been easy for me to adapt. I need to improve. [The Premier League] is a different speed to the one I am used to, a different intensity, but that is what I wanted. I wanted something else, something bigger.”
“The fans have been great since I arrived… I like it here, the life is similar to Holland… Even the weather is the same… I’m used to the rain back in Holland!
“At the same time, everything within the club is different [to Ajax]. Everything is a little bigger, the pitches are really good and the stadium is really nice.”
