Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing Helsinki defender Aapo Halme in January but the Peacocks face stiff competition for the signature of the young defender, according to HITC.
Halme, who has been likened to the Finnish legend Sami Hyypia due to his large stature, is regarded as a player with a big future ahead of him and many teams from all over the Europe are currently interested in the talented defender.
Clubs such as Ajax and Hoffenheim have been mentioned as interested in Halme and now even Leeds United have joined in the pursuit of the 19-year-old, according to reports from HITC.
It is yet to be seen which of these aforementioned teams the youngster will prefer, should he indeed exit Finland in the near future.
Leeds really do not need immediate reinforcements in defense due to the rise of Conor Shaughnessy in recent times but they will still be hoping to lure a player regarded as the “next big thing” to Elland Road.
As a result, the Finland U-21 international might be an astute long term singing for the team looking to get promoted to the Premier League soon and staying in the top tier of English football.
