Aston Villa set to agree surprise deal for 157-goal attacker

According to reports, Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack could be set to join Australian club Melbourne FC on loan.

McCormack appears to have no future at Villa after being deemed surplus to requirements at the club by manager Steve Bruce.

City are also in need of a striker given that Bruno Fornaroli is set to be unavailable until January through injury. Given McCormack’s strong record in Championship football, he will be a major coup for the Australian side.

The move will also allow McCormack to start playing again and regain confidence on the pitch. Villa manager Steve Bruce seemingly confirmed that a move is going to happen during the aftermath of his sides 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest this weekend.

He said, “I believe the clubs have agreed (Villa and Melbourne City). It’s over to Ross (now). I wish him the best of luck no matter what people think and all the rest of it.

“He needs to go and play and get himself in the right condition for it. It could be the perfect fit for him.”
