Everton considering swoop for striker who scored 20 goals in 25 games last season

According to reports, Everton manager Ronald Koeman is considering lining up a bid for former Newcastle United striker Seydou Doumbia during the January transfer window.

The Toffees have been scoring to score goals in the Premier League this season after failing to replace Romelu Lukaku, who joined Manchester United during the summer.

Though they did manage to sign Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez, Rooney is now past his prime while Ramirez has yet to adapt to the demands of English football.

As a result, it has now been claimed that Everton are now considering a move for Doumbia in January to help bring them goals.

The 29-year-old has only managed two appearances so far Sporting Lisbon this season. He did however have a brilliant season last term with Swiss outfit Basel, for whom he notched 20 goals from 25 League appearances.

Should Doumbia continue scoring goals for Sporting, it may be worthwhile considering a move for him.
