West Ham youngster Declan Rice has said that it would be “the best feeling ever” if he is selected to play for West Ham during their game against Tottenham this weekend.
The 18-year-old impressed during the Hammers 3-0 Carabao Cup win over Bolton this week and he is hoping that his performance can earn him game time against the Lilywhites this weekend.
Rice has already earned 154 minutes of Premier League action this season, which is particularly impressive for someone of his age. The Hammers have also managed to keep three clean sheets in a row with Rice in the fold.
The player is now hoping to test himself against the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen and said, “The manager said in the pre-match [meeting] that places are open and that really fired me up.
“Hopefully I caught the eye on Tuesday and now we’ve got two more training sessions before the Spurs game and hopefully I get selected for that one.”
