Steve Nicol has said that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is not a flop but added that the German must answer questions relating to the team’s current form.
The Reds have started the new season on a disappointing note after picking up just eight points from their opening five games. They were also dumped out of the Carabao Cup this week by Leicester City.
Nicol emphasized that Klopp needs to work towards improving the shaky defence and said, “I wouldn’t go that far (to say he’s a flop). I think questions are starting to be asked, basically what he can do for Liverpool defensively.
“We’ve seen what he can do for them as an attacking force. Everybody pretty much agrees that they are great to watch, they score goals and it’s great.
The defensive fragilities of Liverpool have already been exposed. Judging by the way that they are currently playing, it is hard to see them challenging for any of the trophies on offer at this point in time.
