Everton attacker explains why Toffees can spark a turnaround soon

Everton youngster Dominic Calvert-Lewin has revealed that his side’s 3-0 win over Sunderland in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday could spark a turnaround in the club this season.

Calvert-Lewin went on to score a brace during the game and led his side to a wonderful victory on the night.

The Toffees have been in poor form in the Premier League having taken just four points from their opening five games and having lost their last four successive matches in all competitions.

The win ends a miserable run of form and they will be hoping that the confidence that they have gained from the game can serve them well going into the match against Bournemouth this weekend. The game is certainly winnable and Koeman’s men will have no excuses if they fail to deliver.

Calvert-Lewin has now said, “From a confidence point of view, it has been a tough period for us so we knew going into the game we wanted to not only win the game but win it convincingly, and we have done that. We will take confidence from that performance and take that into Saturday.

“We knew going into going into the season it would be a tough period with the fixtures we had and obviously given the results it has been frustrating for us but off the back of tonight, winning 3-0, we will take confidence from that and everyone is looking forward to going into Saturday and starting the game.”
