Tim Krul’s association with Newcastle has come to an end as he converted his loan deal with Brighton and Hove Albion to one year permanent deal.
The Dutch international will now be eligible to face off against his former club when the two sides clash in the Premier League this weekend.
Krul was a well-liked figure at St James Park having made 185 appearances in all competitions for the Magpies after joining in 2005 from Dutch outfit ADO Den Haag.
He however fell down the pecking order at the club and spent last season on loan with Ajax and AZ in his native Holland.
The 29-year-old Krul was impressive during his debut for Brighton in their 1-0 loss to Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
For now at least, Australian international Mat Ryan is likely to remain first choice shot-stopper for the club and will likely start during the game against Newcastle.
