Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has rubbished Jurgen Klopp’s claim that his club’s history are affecting their on the field performances by insisting that players do not think about such things whilst on the field.
The Reds are currently on a poor run of form after being subjected to 5-0 defeat by Manchester City two weeks ago as well as a 1-1 draw against Burnley during the weekend.
Klopp believes that the clubs failures during their 125 year history may be weighing in on his players minds and affecting them on the pitch.
Wright however believes that this is not true and cited as own playing experiences for why he feels that this is the case.
He said, “I have been in teams when you’re on a poor run and the opponents score an unexpected goal against you. You are not thinking about anything other than to get back to it.”
