West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has said that Andy Carroll will play a key part for his team during the second half of the season.
Carroll, who has been plagued by injuries throughout the years, has made only two appearances this season as he continues to recover.
He played playing the Hammers 0-0 stalemate with West Brom this weekend and was one of the club’s best players on the day as he fired in three of their six shots at goal.
Bilic has now backed Carroll to end the striker woes for the Hammers and said, “This was his second game and he looks fit and he looks competitive and the quality will come through the games.
“It’s a big boost for us and long may it continue. It is very important for him to get the games under his belt. He looks good now, touch wood.”
The East London club are currently in 17th position on the League standings and have had troubles in front of goal after having lost three of their opening five matches.
