Football pundit Shaka Hislop has claimed that Philippe Coutinho is overpriced and will not be joining Barcelona during the January transfer window.
Coutinho had been strongly linked with a move to Barcelona during the summer with the Catalan giants having a number of bids rejected for his services by Liverpool, who remained insistent that they would not sell.
Coutinho handed in a transfer request to the Reds and did not feature in any of the club’s opening matches of the season. He only made his first start of the season as his side were held to 1-1 draw by Burnley during the weekend.
Hislop has now claimed that Coutinho will not be moving anywhere and that the player is overpriced by saying, “After everything that’s happened, if he hasn’t left yet, he isn’t going anywhere.
“Liverpool quite clearly don’t want to do business, even at the ridiculous prices that were quoted this summer. As a result I don’t see anyone matching that. He was overpriced anyway. I don’t see it happening again.”
