Newcastle legend Alan Shearer has claimed that Liverpool are no better under Jurgen Klopp than they were under former manager Brendan Rodgers.
The Reds have a World class attack consisting of the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
However their defensive fragilities have been exposed numerous times already this season particularly during their 3-3 Premier League draw with Sunderland, 5-0 loss to Manchester City and their 2-2 Champions League draw with Sevilla last week.
The performances of the Merseyside club declined under Rodgers once Luis Suarez left the club in 2014 and he subsequently ended up getting sacked in October 2015.
Nonetheless, Klopp still has the trust of many fans of Liverpool due to the good work that he did while managing Borussia Dortmund in his native Germany.
Shearer however insists that the Reds are in a similar state to what they were under Rodgers and said, “The truth, however, is that Liverpool are no different under boss Klopp than they were under Brendan Rodgers. Brilliant going forward but not so clever at the back.”
