Joey Barton has praised Philippe Coutinho for his performance against Burnley this weekend.
Liverpool continued their disappointing form in the Premier League as they were held to a 1-1 draw with the Clarets after having to come from behind.
Following a controversial transfer saga with Barcelona during the summer, Coutinho ended up making his first start of the season during the game and played for 78 minutes.
Barton believes that the Brazilian did well and was the Reds best player on the day by saying, “I thought he was excellent in the game on Saturday, I thought, until he ran out of steam, which was probably the last 20 minutes. He was head and shoulders the best player on the park.”
Coutinho remains one of the best players in the Premier League and his performances will be vital for Jurgen Klopp’s team, particularly if they want to enjoy a good season.
