Leeds United reportedly want former Real Madrid man

According to the print version of the Sunday Sun (via HITC), Leeds United are keen on Getafe forward Emiliano Buendia, who’s currently on a season-long loan with Segunda Division side Cultural Leonesa.

The 20-year-old Argentine arrived Europe in 2009 to link up with the Real Madrid youth team, but couldn’t make the first team grade.

Getafe wasted no time bringing him on, and he has since appeared for The Deep Blues 35 times and was  rewarded with a new five-year deal last summer.

Leeds recently entered into a players’ development partnership with Leonesa, with former Juventus man Ouasim Bouy currently on loan with the Spanish club after the Whites signed him.

The West Yorkshire outfit brought in Samu Saiz from Segunda side Huesca in the summer, and he has since been an inspired addition. Should Buendia manage to follow suit if also signed, the deal will be considered a good move and a coup.

The Argentine wideman was said to be close to joining Swansea in January, and still very much fancies a switch to England as he attempts to get himself known to bigger suitors.

A Leeds move would come handy for both player and club, as the latter could do with more legs during the 2nd half of the campaign.
