Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho has revealed that he has no plans to join Barcelona next summer.
The Brazil international had been linked with a move to the Catalan giants all summer, however the deal eventually broke down after the Reds rejected numerous bids.
The 25-year-old was reportedly keen on a move and even handed in a transfer request to the Reds. He made his first start of the season for Jurgen Klopp’s side during their 1-1 Premier League draw against Burnley this weekend.
Coutinho has since admitted that he had been hoping to join Barcelona but also added that he is committed to Barcelona for now.
He said, “What happened was a job offer and, in life, sometimes you get interested; sometimes you don’t and, in my case, everyone knows that I got interested, my family too.
“As I have always said, it is a great offer to receive an offer from such a great club like that. But it is also a great honour being here. Liverpool is a great club worldwide. I’m here and I will give my best as always.”
