Celtic star Mikael Lustig has said that Neymar will need to develop more humility if he wishes to gain the same amount of respect throughout the World as Lionel Messi.
This came after the Brazilian was involved in an altercation with Hoops youngster Anthony Ralston during PSG’s 5-0 Champions League triumph on Tuesday.
The young Ralston appeared to laugh at Neymar after he fell to the ground shortly after PSG had taken a 3-0 lead before half time. In response the 25-year-old Neymar appeared to say something while gesturing towards the score board. He is also said to have refused to shake hands and swap shirts with Ralston after the game.
Lustig has now stated his belief that Neymar will need to improve his attitudes towards opposition players if he hopes to command the same level of respect as Messi and said, “It was the same as usual from Neymar.
“He is an unbelievable footballer but we have seen the other stuff before and we will see it again. have said before that it’s part of his game. He tries to over-react a bit to make the defender step off. We will see it again and again.
“If he wants to be liked as much as Messi, maybe he needs to stop that. He’s up there with the best already – he’s so sharp and is an amazing footballer. Neymar is probably the toughest opponent in the world right now but Anthony did well.”
