FC Juarez is one of only three teams in the Copa MX to not have any points so far, the others include Potros UAEM and Mineros de Zacatecas. Los Bravos fell to Chivas of Guadalajara twice in this tournament, 4-2 away from home and 1-0 at home and were also defeated by Santos Laguna 2-0 away from home. This will be another tough game for the Ascenso MX team and another loss is expected to come from this game despite the home-field advantage.
Santos Laguna is currently second in Group 7 with six points and a win would propel the team from Torreon to a first-place finish. Los Guerreros are only three points back of first-place Chivas of Guadalajara and have a better goal differential than Los Rojiblancos. The latest result for the northerners was a 1-0 defeat against Chivas but the starting XI for that encounter was comprised mostly of bench and reserve players.
Not many key starters are expected to start in this game coming up against a much weaker opponent.
