According to reports, Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez could be set to miss his side’s game against Swansea on Sunday following complications from surgery.
The Spanish manager underwent surgery last week in order to deal with an infection from a hernia operation which he had two years ago.
Benitez reportedly attempted to return to Newcastle on Thursday; however he was forced to cancel his plans after suffering a pain while travelling.
The Magpies have started the season on a disappointing note after losing their first two opening games before winning their last game against West Ham ahead of the international break.
They will know that the Swans are a team which they can certainly take points from if they play well on the day but without Benitez on the touchline, this could get complicated.
The club’s fitness coach Francisco de Miguel Moreno will fill in for Benitez during Friday’s pre-match press conference.
The game on Sunday promises to be an interesting encounter where both sides will be looking to gain points.
