Club legend brands Newcastle chiefs ‘Impossible to work with’

Several years after leaving Newcastle during his second stint as manager of the club, Kevin Keegan has slammed the club’s hierarchy.

The Magpies club owner Mike Ashley has been widely criticized for failing to invest sufficiently in helping the club recruit new players.

The clubs current manager Rafa Benitez has even admitted that he is frustrated with the club’s board for not giving him sufficient capital to invest in the transfer market and this has also led to speculation that the Spaniard could be set to leave the club soon.

Keegan, who worked with owner Mike Ashley, left the club only eight months into his second tenure as manager of the club.

He has now stated that he feels that they are difficult people to work with and said, “Because there’s no trust there. There’s no trust there because from day one they’ve been misled.

“Having worked with Mike Ashley and [former managing director] Derek Llambias – you just can’t work with these people.”
