Newcastle United striker Joselu has compared the Magpies to his former club Real Madrid.
The 27-year-old joined the Magpies last month from Stoke in a deal worth £5 million. He was brought into the team to score goals and has already hit the ground running by finding the net on his home debut which was during the club’s last Premier League encounter against West Ham, which they went on to win 3-0.
The striker is already enjoying life at St. James Park and has now gone on to compare fans of the club to those of Madrid.
He said, “Yes it reminds me of Madrid. All the people in the street in Newcastle love their team too. They love it that we are in the Premier League. It’s a big club, big city, and a big stadium. We have the big players as well so we must do well.”
Rafa Benitez will no doubt be counting upon the former Spain under-21 international to bring goals to his club after missing out on other targets which he had in mind to bolster his squad over the summer.
