Next West Ham chairman could be another unpopular figure

West Ham co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold continue to divide opinions with a lot of their recent choices.

Fans were irked days ago after discovering the club turned down the opportunity to sign both Bayern Munich’s Renato Sanches and PSG’s Grzegorz Krychowiak on loan deals during the summer transfer.

As per The Telegraph, the club owners also turned down a £650 million takeover from Red Bull last December, and it appears one of the Davids has plans to keep West Ham’s ownership within the family going forward.

Dave Sullivan, David’s son revealed to Sports Bible that while he won’t be taking over from his dad, his brother, Jack – West Ham United Ladies’ Chairperson is set to step-in in the future.

When asked if he and/or Jack will be the next chairmen of West Ham, Dave replied: “I personally think Jack is more likely to be the chairman of West Ham, however I would still like some input.

“Jack is currently working with the Ladies team in order to gain the experience he needs. Jack is also looking into working with clubs in other countries.

“Whereas I am focused on my own project and West Ham is not in my immediate future. However I will still retain my shareholding and one of the Sullivans will be the chairman.”

He then goes further to claim the Sullivans aren’t also looking to relinquish West Ham’s ownership in the long-term.

Asked if there is a zero chance of West Ham being bought, David Junior affirmed: “No. If a Saudi Arabian investor could take West Ham no further than we can, then no. We would want someone who can take West Ham a lot further than we ever could.”

Apparently, the Sullivans are here to stay, and fans would only hope it’s for the greater good of the club.
