Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp has revealed why he opted to bring in Everton youngster Liam Walsh to his club on loan. Walsh joined City on loan until January and is expected to get ample opportunities for the first team.
Whilst talking about the player, Redknapp said, “Liam Walsh, he’s a typical lad from the Liverpool area. That kind of character. He’s another real talent. He’s a little tiger. He can play, he digs, he will be scrapping for a place in the team for sure.”
The 19-year-old will be hoping to use the opportunities that he gets under Redknapp to convince Toffees boss Ronald Koeman that he is capable of commanding a first team place at Goodison Park.
This will also allow Everton fans to keep an eye on the player and then gauge if he is worthy of playing for their first team in the future.
As he would have been unlikely to receive first team opportunities this season with the Toffees, this deal will be mutually beneficial for both clubs.
