Tottenham are expected to bid for Ross Barkley during the January transfer window in four months’ time.
Barkley rejected the chance to sign a new contract at Goodison Park and with his contract set to expire next summer, the Toffees will be aiming to sell him in January as it will be their final opportunity to cash in on a sale.
The 23-year-old Barkley was reportedly on the verge of joining reigning Premier League Champions Chelsea, though he is said to have turned down a move on transfer deadline day.
The England international’s first choice was to link up with Spurs this summer, however the North London club’s chairperson Daniel Levy was hesitant to make a move now as he knows that he can purchase the player for a cheaper fee if his side make a bid in January.
Spurs are likely to continue monitoring Barkley and could end up landing him for a fee of around only £10 million.
