Newcastle reportedly in danger of losing Benitez to West Ham

According to a report published by the Northern Echo, Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez would have to pay the club £6 million if he were to leave St. James’ Park.

The report however also adds that West Ham, who are interested in Benitez, may be willing to pay the fee to recruit the Spanish manager.

Benitez is said to be unhappy at the Magpies as the club did not grant him sufficient capital to make new investments. He is also believed to be interested in taking over the Hammers should Slaven Bilic end up getting sacked as manager.

The Hammers are currently in poor form in the League having lost all three of their open matches and should they lose against Huddersfield in their next match after the international break, it will be difficult to see Bilic keeping his job.

From a Newcastle perspective, they should try and do everything that they can to keep Benitez as he is arguably currently one of the best managers in world football.
