West Ham star defends under-fire Joe Hart

Joe Hart

West Ham captain Mark Noble has said that the East London club’s slump is not the fault of Joe Hart. Hart has been heavily criticized after conceding ten goals in just three matches.

If the club continues their poor run of form, Hart could end up losing his place to Adrian, who displayed some good form towards the end of last season when he managed to displace former first choice Darren Randolph.

The veteran Noble has insisted though that his clubs’ bad form is not the fault of Hart by saying to the Daily Mail, “Joe has had a tough start to his West Ham career, but that’s down to the whole team. He’s England’s No.1, he’s a fantastic goalie and I think he’ll stay No.1 for a while yet to come.

“He’s a fantastic character. He’s played in massive tournaments and won the Premier League so it’s always nice to have that experience.

“We probably haven’t protected him as well as we should have done in the first three games, but he’s a leader, a great person and hopefully he can start his enjoyment of West Ham from next Monday night.”

Noble’s certainly correct in his assessment. The fortunes of his team have been as a result of the collective performances from squad members and it would be unfair to place all of the blame on Hart.

The Hammers currently are in last place on the League standings and it will be hard to see Slaven Bilic remaining as manager should their performances fail to take an immediate improvement.
