Liverpool youngster Ryan Kent has joined German club Freiburg on loan for this season.
The 20-year-old Kent played impressively last season while on loan with Barnsley and managed to win himself a new contract at Anfield as a result.
He had a decent pre-season, which is said to have also attracted the interest of Leeds and Aston Villa though the German outfit have won the race to sign him. He will now be linking up with Leicester City’s Bartosz Kapustka at Freiburg, who is also at the club on loan.
This will be an opportunity for Kent to play more regularly and grow as a player in the hope of impressing the Liverpool hierarchy and proving that he has what it takes to play for the first team.
Playing in Germany may also accustom him to playing in different conditions and could be more beneficial than playing for a team in England that is outside the Premiership.
