Sunderland and Wolves battle to sign £10million-rated attacker

According to reports, Sunderland and Wolverhampton are set to compete for the signature of £10million-rated Sheffield Wednesday striker Jordan Rhodes.

Rhodes only arrived at Wednesday in January; however he has failed to establish himself at the club, having only managed to notch five goals from 25 appearances.

The Owls are looking to make a few new signings themselves before the transfer deadline and they may not be open to sending Rhodes out on loan as this will be of little benefit to them.

The Black Cats are looking for new players, however due to financial constraints, they will probably only be open to a loan move for Rhodes.

Though Wolves have space for another striker after selling Nouha Dicko, they have yet to make a formal approach for Rhodes.

As a result, it now remains to be seen if a move for Rhodes will eventually go ahead and he may just end up spending a bit more time with Wednesday.
