Monaco reportedly make their stance clear on Liverpool’s £74million approach

According to reports, Monaco are not interested in Liverpool’s latest approach for Thomas Lemar.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of Lemar, who helped guide Monaco to the French Ligue 1 title as well as the semi-finals of the Champions League last season.

The Merseyside club are said to have offered Monaco £74.4 million as well as Divock Origi in exchange for the 21-year-old Lemar.

The Belgian international Origi has managed 12 Premier League goals from two full seasons with the Merseyside club and they are said to be willing to let him go.

With Monaco having signed Keita Balde Diao, presumably as a replacement for Lemar, one would have assumed that a deal would have gone ahead faster. However it now appears to not be the case.

It remains to be seen if any deal will indeed happen before deadline day and there is a good chance that Liverpool will make another approach.
