22-year-old defender chooses Galatasaray over Celtic

Celtic vs Hearts

Manchester City defender Jason Denayer has rejected an offer from Celtic and instead chosen to go to Turkey on another loan at Galatasaray.

According to Daily Record, the Belgian international didn’t want to come back to Glasgow and play for the Scottish champions and as a result, he decided to join the Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray.

This decision comes as a huge surprise because the strong centre-back had a chance to play Champions League football with Celtic and to compete on a top level.

The 22-year-old is under a contract with Manchester City, and since 2014, he has been on various loans. During the loan spells, Denayer has played for both Celtic and Galatasaray, and left a solid impression.

During 2016/2017 season, Jason Denyer had been loaned to Sunderland, where he earned 24 Premier League appearances  and struggled to make an impact.

Back in 2015, he made a debut for the Belgian national team, and so far, he has collected 8 international caps for the Devils.
