Monaco reportedly set to hijack West Ham’s pursuit of top target

According to reports, Monaco could be set to hijack West Ham’s potential deal for Sporting Lisbon star William Carvalho. Carvalho has been long linked with a move to the Hammers as the club are looking to bolster their side.

However the defending French Ligue 1 Champions are now said to be viewing the Portugal international as a possible replacement for Fabinho, who has been linked with a move to PSG.

However it is unlikely that Monaco will follow through with a bid for Carvalho unless PSG do submit a very high bid for Fabinho.

The Hammers have been long linked with a move for Carvalho and are said to be haggling Lisbon over their £40 million evaluation of the player.

Considering that the East London club have made a poor start to the Premiership campaign though, there is a strong chance that they will try to complete the signing of Carvalho as they look to bolster their side.
