Liverpool reportedly set to miss out on defensive target to Juventus

Liverpool have been dealt a transfer blow as Benedict Howedes is set to undergo a medical with Juventus. The German will join the Italian giants initially on loan with an option to buy for €15 million.

Howedes was said to be one of the main targets of the Old Lady of Italian football as he is versatile, being able to operate as a central defender or as a full-back.

The player is said to have also snubbed potential moves to Liverpool as well as Spartak Moscow. Considering that Juventus have been the most successful of the teams that were interested in him, it comes as no surprise that he opted for them at the end.

Juve will be hoping that Howedes can help them to continue their domination of Italian football. They will also be hoping to finally win the Champions League this season after being losing finalists last term as well as in 2015.
