Dean Ashton has called on his former team West Ham to give Slaven Bilic more time to turn the club’s fortunes around.
Bilic’s future as manager of the East London club is currently the subject of speculation as the club have lost all three of their opening Premier League matches thus far.
Should they fail to do well in their next Premier League game against Huddersfield, it will be hard to see the Croatian Bilic lasting long.
Bilic spent heavily this summer on bringing in the likes of Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnautovic to his squad and the duo have been unable to bring in a desire effect to the club thus far.
However, when asked about the rumors suggesting that West Ham could sack Bilic, Ashton said, “I don’t think that’s fair. When you bring in new signings you’ve got to be given time to bed them in, and that means more than six or seven games.
“They do look very poor defensively, and their organisation has also been very poor – he [Bilic] switches from a four to a three quite regularly as if he’s not quite sure about his starting line-up at the back.”
